Thousands mourn murdered Muslim students as Turkish PM slams Obama

Thousands of people have paid their respects at the funeral of three young Muslims allegedly killed by a neighbor who was angry over parking spots. North Carolina police are still investigating whether religious or ethnic hatred motivated the alleged gunman Craig Stephen Hicks who turned himself in and was jailed on first-degree murder charges. The FBI has opened a parallel investigation into the murders. More than 5,000 people attended the funeral of Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, his wife, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21, and her sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, who were killed on Tuesday in the couple’s Chapel Hill apartment.

When we say this was a hate crime it is all about protecting all other children in the USA.

The crowd was so large the funeral had to be moved from a mosque to an athletic field at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. The fathers of the three young Muslims, standing before their caskets, urged the crowd to protect others by demanding justice in the face of what they say was a crime motivated by religious hatred. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has criticised President Barack Obama for his silence following the killings. Hicks, 46, is a Second Amendment rights advocate with a concealed weapons permit who often complained about organised religion on Facebook.

If you stay silent when faced with an incident like this, and don’t make a statement, the world will stay silent towards you.
