Thousands of tourists flee Tunisia as British death toll in terror attack rises

Thousands of UK holidaymakers are fleeing Tunisia in the aftermath of the beach resort massacre that left at least eight British people dead. Tour companies have hurriedly arranged coaches and flights to get them home, with most wanting to get out of the country as quickly as possible. More than 20,000 Britons were on holiday in the country at the time of the attack, in which a gunman disguised as a tourist opened fire on holidaymakers sunbathing on a beach. David Cameron said the public needs to be prepared for the fact that “many” of the 38 people killed in the “savage” shooting were British.

Sadly, we believe the majority are British of those who have been killed or injured.

The first British victims of the Tunisia terror attack have been identified. According to Sky sources, one is Carly Lovett. The 24-year-old recently became engaged, according to her Facebook page, and worked as a beauty blogger. Miss Lovett, was with her fiancee when she was killed, and they were due to return home today, it was reported. A second British victim has been named as Adrian Evans, who worked for Sandwell Council in the West Midlands as a manager in the gas services department.
