Oscar winner Sandra Bullock has climbed six places to top the list of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses - netting $51m in 12 months. The Gravity star jumped from seventh place on the previous Forbes earnings list between June 2013 and June 2014. Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence came in second with estimated earnings of $34m. And former Friends favourite Jennifer Aniston came third after netting $31m.
Movies based on original ideas that cost $100 million to produce and feature one actress for the majority of the screen time are [rare], but director Alfonso Cuaron and Warner Bros. had a huge hit with ‘Gravity.

Gwyneth Paltrow who made an estimated $19m (£11m), and Angelina Jolie, with $18m (£10.6m), claimed the last two spots in the top five. In sixth place, Cameron Diaz tied with Jolie, also taking in $18m. Scarlett Johansson, 29, came in seventh with $17m, Amy Adams followed at number eight with $13m, Natalie Portman was in 9th place also with $13m, and Twilight star Kristen Stewart, fell from number three last year to 10th place with earnings of $12m. Forbes compiled the list by estimating earnings from the actresses’ film work, endorsements, residuals and advertising work, and by talking to agents, managers and lawyers.
